A rainy day is always a bummer on your Destin or 30A vacation. Heck, it’s even a bummer for locals on a rainy weekend. But don’t fear, here are some of our favorite ways to spend a rainy day!
Good news… Destin and 30A are PACKED with fantastic restaurants to visit. You basically have your pick of whatever you want: burgers, gourmet grilled cheese, seafood, tacos, ice cream, and more. Try out somewhere new or visit an old favorite. Here is a list of our favorite spots for brunch.
Hit the shops! The Seaside shops are cute + local. Rosemary Beach has more of a European feel. Destin Commons + Grand Boulevard have some of your well known favorites like Anthropologie, H+M, + Williams Sonoma. Silver Sands Premium Outlets has popular stores at discounts. All of that to say…you have plenty to choose from!
Take the day to check out some books! One of my favorite bookstores is Sundog Books in Seaside. They have a quaint small bookstore feel with a great kids section, too. You could also check out some bigger book stores in the area like Barnes & Noble, or even head to the local library for the day.
Time to bust out the board games. Monopoly or Clue are classics. Sleeping Queens or Slamwich are fun card games even little ones can play. If you have a deck of cards laying around, play War or Go Fish! Or head to a nearby store like Sundog Books for a Seaside themed board game or puzzle 🙂
Uncle Buck’s Fish Bowl + Grill is our favorite place to bowl. It has a super fun under the sea atmosphere that your whole family will love! Plus it is in Destin Commons so you can shop before or after if you have extra time.
Wait it out
I know, I know…not probably what you expected me to say. But if you wait it out and then go searching for shells, it is one of the best time to find them! Or if the rain is just a drizzle, find a covered porch or patio and relax.
I hope this list gives you some ideas for your rainy day at the beach!
