School’s getting out. Summer boredom’s coming in. And it’s time to figure out what exactly we’re going to be doing all summer long with our kiddos! Maybe you’ve already signed them up for some fun summer camp weeks, but still need to fill some time? Never fear, the Destin 30A June events post is here! Summer Lawn Games in Grand Park – Miramar Beach

Now through August 10

From their website: “We invite you to bring the entire family out to enjoy some fun in the sun! Summer Lawn Games will take over Grand Park from 5 – 8:30 PM daily, May 25 thru August 10th. Grab some food and drinks from one of the many restaurants in Grand Boulevard before you settle in to a fun round of corn hole, giant lawn chess, checkers and more.”

Kia Karnival Family Fun Event – Fort Walton Beach

From their website: “Join us for a spectacular event filled with excitement for all ages! Summer STEAM Workshops at Emerald Coast Science Center – Fort Walton Beach

Every Monday and Tuesday in June and July starting on June 3

From their website: “Camp time includes the lessons listed below as well as fun activities on the sciPad, in our new STEAM Machine, and in our outdoor exhibit area, plus a 20-minute lunch break. Kids can expect to explore a different theme every week, and each Monday and Tuesday workshop will have different activities.” Topics include animals, Harry Potter, sports, and robots.

Children’s Theater – Seaside

Stories by the Sea – Seaside

From their website: “Join The REP Theatre for a one-of-a-kind storytelling experience that will take audiences on a fun and interactive storybook adventure for children of all ages! On Tuesday and Thursday mornings, REP actors will bring your favorite stories to life in this expertly improvised and entertaining performance that will have you wishing for more. Performances of Stories by the Sea are located in front of the Seaside Post Office and will be an unforgettable experience that the entire family will love.”

Wild Sea Turtle Wednesdays at The Big Chill – Watersound Beach

Here’s one of the family-friendly Destin 30A June events that is both fun and educational! From their website: “Learn all about our endangered sea turtles, why protecting them is important, and how you can help. Learn how you can help keep our beaches #cleandarkflat. Paint a wooden sea turtle to keep. Receive a goodie bag with activity book and repurposed crayons. See how we mark off sea turtle nests. Look at pictures of sea turtle tracks. Meet some turtle volunteers. See a life-size sea turtle shell and skull.”

Family Movie Night at The Big Chill – Watersound

June 5 and every Wednesday this summer

From their website: “Join us for family movie nights at The Big Chill! We will be playing movies on the Jumbotron and under the pavilion!” June screenings will be: THE LION KING (June 5), THE CROODS (June 12), CHICKEN LITTLE (June 19), WONKA (June 26).

Sunset Camp at Gulfarium – Fort Walton Beach

Moonlight & Movies and Face Painting – Rosemary Beach

Thursdays starting on June 6

Red Empire Week Community Day – Eglin Air Force Base

June 10

Celebrate one of the more unique and patriotic Destin 30A June events for families with Community Day at Eglin AFB, honoring the 7th Special Forces group. There will be fun for everyone including demonstrations, free activities for all ages, plus food and drink available for purchase. 

Free to attend but RSVP is required, unless your spouse is already assigned to 7SFG(A).

 

Alaqua Animal Refuge Summer Family Fun Hike – Freeport

June 15

From the website: “Jump into summer with Alaqua’s Family Friendly Hike! Beginning at 10am on Saturday, June 15, join fellow hikers for an exciting family-friendly adventure that includes a captivating tour of the refuge. Wear your best walking shoes, and don’t forget to bring a water bottle for the journey.”

$5 donation per person, paid on-site the day of the hike. Get there early and purchase specialty coffees, fruit smoothies, and teas available at the Cat Cafe from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

 

Father’s Day Cruise Aboard Sunquest Cruise – Miramar Beach

Walton County Public Library Outreach Storytime – Watersound

June 28 and the last Fridays of July and August

From their website: “Calling all families! Join the Walton County Public Library System at The Big Chill for Outreach Storytime hosted by Winona and Morgan! Save the dates: 4/19, 5/24, 6/28, 7/26, and 8/30 from 10AM-11AM. Plus, let your little ones unleash their creativity with a special DIY craft after the storybook reading. See you there!”
