Big Truck Day – Destin

From the website: “The annual Big Truck Day will be held in the Destin Community Center parking lot from 9-11 a.m. on Friday, August 2. The event welcomes children of all ages to come and see the unique trucks we have working for our community.”

From The Big Chill website: “Hit the stage for a family friendly dance party with DJ Dan Davis from 6-9:30PM!” This sounds like a great way for your little one to get their wiggles out before bedtime and maybe even learn some new dance moves in a kid-friendly atmosphere.

Here Comes The Sun: Summer Concert Series – Rosemary Beach

It’s not too late to enjoy a summer concert in the sand! This Destin30A August events highlight ends on a high note with a performance by the Anthony Peebles Band.

Movie Monday at Baytowne Wharf – Miramar Beach

City Of Destin’s 40th Birthday Bash – Destin
August 10
Of course we can’t talk about Destin30A August events without mentioning this one – our city’s 40th anniversary!! From their website: “The City of Destin will hold a 40th Birthday Bash on Saturday, August 10th at HarborWalk Village. All are invited to the event celebrating four decades of incorporation. From 5:30-8:30 p.m., enjoy stilt walkers, live music by Tobacco Road, the City’s first drone show, fire spinning, and much more. “It’s one of those events where there should be something for everyone, no matter the age,” said Tamara Young, City of Destin Public Information Director. “Our Harbor was recently voted 2nd best in the Nation, so it’s a chance to appreciate the gorgeous view, commemorate 40 years, and join our biggest birthday party yet.””
Free. Parking fees at HarborWalk Village and all City-owned parking lots have been waived that evening for the community-wide celebration.
Moms & Mimosas at AJ’s Grayton Beach – Santa Rosa Beach

Lawn Games On The Green at Grand Boulevard – Miramar Beach
August 16+17, and every Friday and Saturday until October 26
Grand Boulevard’s fun outdoor lawn games set up officially switches over from its summertime Wednesdays schedule to its weekend schedule for the fall in mid-August! Games include corn hole, giant lawn chess, and more.

South Walton Kids Fishing Tournament – Santa Rosa Beach

Here’s a fun kid-centric event hosted by the Coastal Conservation Association of Florida. From their website: “Join us for the 18th annual CCA South Walton Kids Fishing Tournament! This year, pre-registration online is REQUIRED! There will be NO walk-ups allowed. Registration is limited to the first 200 kids. Ages 3-14. Kids receive a rod & reel combo, T-shirt, lunch, bait and instruction!”
$20 plus eventbrite fee per contestant and includes everything mentioned above.
Storytime & Crafts With Walton County Library – Watersound

The Walton County Library is hosting a fun storytime and crafts experience for kids at The Big Chill as part of their library outreach program!

Perfect Hues: Baytowne Wharf Art Fest – Miramar Beach
August 31 – September 1
From their website: “This Labor Day Weekend join us for Perfect Hues: Baytowne Wharf Art Fest. Each evening from 4-9pm stroll The Village streets as you browse a variety of artwork from local and regional artists. Enjoy LIVE music throughout the festival and a spectacular fireworks show over the lagoon on Sunday at 9pm. ALSO on Sunday night, be sure to check in by the breezeway to enjoy a sip & shop through The Village. We love kicking off the fall season with such a unique, moonlit weekend!”

Labor Day Celebration at HarborWalk Village – Destin

Celebrate Labor Day weekend with free sunset concerts, firespinners after dark, and fireworks on Sunday evening! This is one of those special Destin30A August events to close out the summer months with.
Parking is $20 for all day, in/out privileges.
