Potterheads (and parents of Potterheads)…this is for you! I recently did a VIP tour at Universal Studios Florida and got some insider secrets for things to not miss. These tips will impress the biggest of Harry Potter fans. And honestly? You will be impressed even if you aren’t 😉 Check out these 5 must-do things at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
1. Watch the dragon in Diagon Alley shoot flames. It happens every 10 minutes and it will start to growl a bit before it happens. So you will have time to grab your phone if you want!
2. Try Butterbeer. You can choose cold, frozen, and even hot is an option in the colder months. There is also ice cream or fudge. My favorites are the ice cream and the hot butterbeer!
3. Ride the Hogwart’s Express. The only way to ride the Hogwart’s Express between Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure is with a park-to-park ticket. It is a slow train ride that take you from Diagon Alley to Hogsmeade. Bonus tip: the experience is different both ways. Make sure to ride it both directions to get the full experience!
4. Want to do actual magic?! You can purchase interactive wands that work at over 30 locations around Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. When you find a medallion you have to say the spell and do the correct wand motion (there are directions that you get with your wand), then you will see the magic happen!
5. You can stop by Gringotts Money Exchange and actually exchange your muggle money for Wizarding bank notes. You can use those bank notes to purchase items around the parks!
