While vacationing families are donning their matching Old Navy Flag T-Shirts and their Stars and Striped swimwear, you may be rummaging through your closet and dresser, lucky enough to just find something red. I, on the other hand, absolutely love 4th of July. (I’ll be honest, I love all the holidays, but 4th of July is Top 3 for sure!) I have multiple options to wear for days leading up to The 4th and I look forward to it every year.
4th of July doesn’t get enough time, in my opinion. We celebrate Christmas for over a month, and justifiably so, as we celebrate the birth of Jesus or family connection. But, when Summer rolls around, it seems that we’ve just gotten used to our kids’ new routines, and then July 4th comes in, blows stuff up, and it’s done.
Here in Destin and on 30A, we’re busy with Summer season and hosting vacationers. As moms, we’re busy filling the squares on our children’s social calendars so they can stay busy living their best lives while we carry on with our regularly busy lives. Good old Lady Liberty slips through the cracks and we forget to give America the attention she needs.
Whether you live in the Destin and 30A area, or you’re visiting from somewhere else, and whether you’ve been planning your Fireworks Night Outfit for weeks, or you’ll just pull out a Navy Blue shirt and white shorts on The 4th and call it good (I’ve been there, too! The 4th sneaks up on us, Mamas!), I’ve got you covered with things to do and where to watch 4th of July fireworks, even if you’re not dressed yet.
Destin Commons Fireworks
Start off Independence Day with a bang on July 3rd, as Destin Commons hosts Star Spangled Food Truck Festival and Fireworks Show.
Seaside Fireworks
Seaside Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks starts July 4th at 9:00am and continues throughout the morning, with live music by a roaming brass band throughout the day and a Pops Concert at 6:30 p.m. by Sinfonia Gulf Coast as the sun sets into the Gulf. At 8:30 p.m., the largest fireworks show on the Gulf Coast takes place over the water.
Sandestin Fireworks
Sandestin’s Red White and Baytowne kicks off at 7:00pm on July 4th with live music, family-friendly fun, crafts, balloons, and face-painting. Fireworks light up the lagoon at 9:15pm.
HarborWalk Village Fireworks
Ongoing Summer events throughout Destin and 30A will keep your family entertained even if your Destin vacation doesn’t fall on 4th of July weekend. Okaloosa Island, Destin, and Sandestin have enough weekly fireworks shows so you can celebrate USA no matter when you visit us this Summer! Personally, I enjoy attending these festivities and seize the opportunity to break out my Red, White, and Blue attire, so I say, if you’ve got it, flaunt it!
Baytowne Fireworks
Continue the Independence Day Celebration with Boomin’ Tuesday at Baytowne featuring a Dance Party with Live DJ starting at 7:15pm and Fireworks over the lagoon at 9:15pm. Fireworks at The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island are Wednesdays at 9:00pm, and All-American Thursdays at HarborWalk Village salute local heroes with an Airshow at 6:30pm, live music, and Fireworks at 9:00pm.
