Stories by the Sea | Seaside

Improv Bootcamp for Kids | Seaside

From their website: It’s time to level up with Improv Bootcamp for Kids! At The REP, not only do we perform and share stories, but we also share the craft of storytelling and theatre arts with local and visiting students. In our popular Improv Bootcamp workshops, students jump into action by learning all the basics of improv comedy and performance with unique challenges, teamwork exercises, and interactive theatre games. At the end of each week, our improv students advance to the next stage in the Friday Friends and Finale showcase, where they show off their new and improved skills. Improv Bootcamp is virtually the best for boosting your child’s creativity and providing a fun, engaging experience kids will love. Advanced registration is required. 

 

30A Songwriters Showcase | Watersound Town Center

The Watersound Farmers’ Market is hosting a secondary market throughout the summer season. The market will be held Thursdays from 9AM – 1PM, in addition to the weekly Sunday market in the Watersound Town Center.

HarborWalk Village: All American Thursday | HarborWalk Village

Yoga in the Backyard of Love at Hibiscus Coffee & Guesthouse

Back Beach BBQ Anniversary Hog Bash

From the website: On Saturday, June 17, Back Beach Barbecue will host their annual “Hog Bash” to celebrate six years in business. From 12 – 4 p.m., guests are invited to enjoy a whole hog roast, live music with The Corduroy Blue, giveaways, refreshments and more. The event is free to attend.

For a $15 donation, guests will receive a plate filled with Back Beach’s signature pulled pork, barbeque baked beans, and coleslaw. In honor of Father’s Day, Back Beach Barbecue will host a free-to-enter raffle during the event for a $100 gift card. The winner will be drawn on Sunday, June 18.

In year’s past, Back Beach has donated a portion of proceeds raised from the annual event to a local organization. However, in honor of the restaurant’s six-year anniversary, Back Beach Barbecue will be donating proceeds to the family of one of their former employees, Megan Duplesis, who suddenly passed away earlier this month.

Watersound Origins Blood Drive

From the website: Watersound Origins will host a Blood Drive on Monday, June 19  from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The OneBlood Big Red Bus® will be parked at the Watersound Origins Community Center. Photo ID is required.

All donors will receive a free a wellness checkup including blood pressure, temperature, iron count, pulse and cholesterol screening. ID is required. In addition to a few other goodies, each donor will have access to their antibody test within 48 to 72 hours. 

OneBlood is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) community asset responsible for providing safe, available and affordable blood. Generally healthy people ages 16 or older who weigh at least 110 pounds can donate blood. 

 

The Legend of Robin Hood at Alys Beach Amphitheatre

Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic | Baytowne Marina

From the website: The 21st annual Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic takes place June 21 – 25, 2023. Timed to coincide with the peak of the Gulf Coast’s blue marlin season, and located at the South’s number-one ranked resort destination, the Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort sets the new precedent for world-class sportfishing tournaments.

This annual event offers something for everyone. Most importantly, for the angling teams, there’s the deep blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, red-hot billfish action, and cool green cash. While on-shore, both the teams and their families can enjoy the wide variety of recreational activities offered at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and The Village of Baytowne Wharf. The spectacular night time weigh-ins are held at the Baytowne Marina at Sandestin and are open to the public.

Ballet at Twilight at Grand Boulevard

From the website: Northwest Florida Ballet will stage its annual free community performance, Ballet at Twilight, featuring a mixed repertoire of classic and modern works in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin’s Grand Park on Sat., June 24 at 7:30 PM. This unique production features the artists of NFB with international guest artists performing a mix of contemporary, neoclassical and classical pieces from guest choreographers and the NFB repertoire in a casual outdoor atmosphere

Ballet at Twilight is presented as part of Grand Boulevard’s Coastal Culture series, made possible by the Grand Boulevard Arts & Entertainment Program.
