One of the best parts about the weather cooling down that now is the perfect time to enjoy that morning (or maybe afternoon!) cup of coffee outside. If you are anything like me, I have the perfect spot for you to grab coffee in Fort Walton Beach, mama.
Coffee Ave is a food truck on the corner of highway 98 and Eglin parkway in downtown Fort Walton Beach. This little spot is known as “Fresh Culture” and is the perfect kid (and pet!) friendly getaway spot for those cooler fall days.
Not only is the coffee delicious (my go to is a cold brew with vanilla and oat milk) but there are plenty of shady places to sit and enjoy the ambiance. Fresh Culture is a group of three food trucks in what used to be a car wash on a busy corner. While the corner is still busy, the entire food area is closed off to traffic and filled with murals, flowers, great music, and tons of seating options.
Next to Coffee Ave are two other food trucks—one with great breakfast and lunch food (sandwiches, bowls, avocado toast, etc.). and the other with acai bowls and smoothies. The spot sits right in from of the FWB public library (the best kids section around!) and a few steps past Parlor Donuts. There is something for everyone on this corner, making it easy to spend a morning here.
If the kiddos have some energy to burn, head across the street to the park at the landing! Recently renovated, this park has play structures for both small and big kids and seats for parents under the large oak trees. If your kids need a little more room to run (or you want to have a picnic with all that good stuff you just picked up at the food trucks) there is a big grassy area next door with beautiful views of the sound (this is where the FWB farmers market sets up on Saturdays).
While there is always a steady stream of customers all day long, weekend mornings are the busiest. Right now they are open 7-5 every day. I hope you check them out next time you are wanting coffee in Fort Walton Beach!
