Sealight Festival – Miramar Beach

Now Through March 31

Celebrate Lunar New Year and the beginning of spring with this unique and family-friendly nighttime event. From their website: “Step into a dazzling world of light with over 1000 Chinese lanterns; all handmade by artisans with decades of experience. A whimsical walk-through experience right here in Miramar Beach to light up and warm up the season!”

Ages 13-64 are $25.99. Children 4-12 are $17.99. Children 3 and under are free. Seniors 65+, students, and Military with valid ID are $20.99. Takes about 45 minutes to complete the walk.

 

Scottish Festival – Panama City Beach

March 2

This annual celebration of all things Scottish will be a full day of fun, jam-packed with live music and dancing entertainment, Scottish Highland Games, Scottish Tea Room, Clan Tents, Children’s Tent, Highland Coos and Petting Zoo, Falconry, British Car Show, and more! 

General Admission tickets start at for adults with FREE parking are $25 and for children ages 6-12 are $10, plus eventbrite fees when purchased online in advance. 

 

Emerald Coast Cruizin’ Car Show – Panama City Beach

March 7-9

From the PCB website: “While your family weaves through dozens of rows of iconic vehicles, keep your ears alert for cash and swag giveaways. Collectors and enthusiasts drive home a vintage vehicle if they prevail in the frantic bidding at a live auction. Visitors won’t want to miss out on the numerous live bands, meet and greets, and presentation shows! Activities at Emerald Coast Cruizin’ include cruise-ins, concerts, parties, vendors, food, parades, and celebrity appearances. Car enthusiasts of all ages are welcome to check out the thousands of hot rods, customs, muscle cars, trucks, and classics on display.”

Admission-Only tickets can be purchased at the Event Spectator Gate and cost $20 (children under 12 are free). 

 

Sail Into School – Panama City Beach

March 7, 14, 21, 28 (Thursdays)

Join the PCB Public Library every Thursday morning in March and, “get ready to have some fun with your child as they learn to take turns, share, and get along with others through stories, songs, and craft time.” 

Free. For children ages 3-5 and their caregivers. 

 

Touch-A-Truck – Destin

March 9

Now here’s one of the Destin 30A March events that most every kid will have a blast at! This annual event allows kids to see AND touch a wide variety of vehicles while learning more about what they do and how they help improve our everyday lives. If you’ve got a kiddo who is sensitive to sound or has special needs, there is a horn-free hour from 1-2pm just for them. 

$5 per child (no charge for their adult caregivers) or get one free entry per child by donating a brand-new package of elementary-aged children’s socks or underwear. Proceeds support the Junior League of the Emerald Coast. 

 

5th Annual Mac N Cheese Festival – Destin

March 10

An entire festival devoted to eating my kid’s favorite food of all time AND it supports a good cause? SIGN ME UP. From their website: “This family-friendly event will feature gourmet, chef-inspired twists on the South’s favorite comfort food. Local restaurants will compete for the best mac in town. Be there to sample everything for yourself and cast your vote! All proceeds from this event will go to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast, which works in our community to promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging, and influence through its programs focused on academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.”

Tickets are $30 per adult and $20 for kids 5-16 (under 5 are free). V.I.C tickets (Very Important Cheese) are $50 and include 1 beverage ticket and a tee shirt.

 

Outdoor Family Movie Night – Seaside

Every Friday starting March 15 through April 28

From their website: Grab your blankets & chairs and head to the Seaside Amphitheater for a family movie under the stars. The movie begins at 7:30 PM, weather permitting. Follow the link for the movie review to check if it is the right fit for you and your family.”

St Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt – Panama City Beach

March 15

Here’s an easy and kid-friendly way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with young ones. From the Panama City Beach Public Library website: “Match the picture to the number on the clue and win a prize from our treasure box.”

Alaqua Animal Refuge Shamrock Stroll – Freeport

March 16

From their Facebook event page: “Step into a St. Patrick’s Day adventure at Alaqua’s Shamrock Stroll! Immerse yourself in the spirit of the holiday as you explore the scenic trail with family and friends. This family-friendly adventure includes a captivating tour of the refuge!”

$5 per person. Refreshments available for purchase at the nearby Cat Cafe. Wear your best walking shoes, and don’t forget to bring a water bottle for the journey! 

 

St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt At The Big Chill – Watersound Beach

March 17

If you’re looking for a fun St. Patrick’s Day activity to do with your kids that doesn’t involved day drinking, this could be a fun option! From their website: “Looking to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Join us for our annual St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt at The Big Chill and you just might find it! The fun begins at 10am!”

Spring Break Workshops – Fort Walton Beach

March 18-22 and March 27-29

If you’re looking for somewhere to take your kids during their Spring Break from school where they can have fun for a long while with minimal effort on your part, look no further than the Emerald Coast Science Center! These day-long workshops will feature different themes each day. Daily workshop themes include butterflies, animal adventures, rainbow prisms, and more. 

$12 for adults, $10 for children (3-17) and seniors 60+. Members and children 2 and under are free. 10% discount for Military with active ID. Registration is required. 

 

Scallywag Sundays – Baytowne

March 24 + 31

From the Baytowne Wharf website: “Join us for magic, music, and mayhem! Watch as featured pirate Captain Davy takes you on an adventure with two magic shows on stage at 7pm & 8pm!”
