Have you ever woken up and just been in the worst mood? It totally sets the tone for the whole day. Bad morning, spilled coffee, so much traffic and hitting every red light. It almost seems like a self fulfilling prophecy. On the other hand, have you woken up and been in a good mood? The birds are literally chirping, your children are peaceful and cooperative getting out the door, and you arrive at your destination with zero road rage? Again, self fulfilling prophecy.
Is it possible that we can manifest the way our days will go?? I think so. Choose your own adventure– good day or bad?
Trust me, I have my share of bad days and I wake up with a bad attitude far more frequently than I would like to admit. I have noticed a common thread on the days where my patience lacks, and it all starts with the thoughts running through my head. Sometimes I must physically snap my fingers in order for them to change, but sometimes I can just shift my consciousness from one stuck in negativity to one in positivity.
I’ve had a run of good days lately and the only thing I’ve consistently changed are the thoughts running through my head the second my eyes pop open in the morning.
I know this sounds cheeseball, but I swear it helps. When I wake up, before I even open my eyes to check and see what time it is, I think, Today is going to be amazing. Then I open my eyes and see if I get to get up, or if I have a few more minutes to snooze. While getting dressed I repeat the mantra. While brushing my teeth, I repeat the mantra. When I go descend my stairs into the chaos that is our mornings, I repeat the mantra. Sometimes, my attitude is too much for the positive power, but sometimes it’s not. Sometimes, I get to choose. Try it for a few days and see if it makes any difference in the way your mornings unfold. Choose your own adventure- good day or bad.
