Hello Beautiful mommas.
My name is Sarah Vogel and I’m 36 years old( I’m loving life the older I get).
I live in Blue mountain beach right along 30A in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. I’m a mom to Andrew who is 11 and Norah Grace who is 10, we also have 2 fur babies (I’m a Dachshund lover). Last year we took a leap of faith and moved to the beach from Katy, Texas. My husband and I homeschool both kiddos and own and run an Advocare national health and wellness business together from our home.
I love living in Florida. If you asked, I would tell you I was raised in Alaska but I have grown to love the the sunshine state…I’m a florida girl at heart.
Im the oldest of 3 and have 2 amazing sisters, both still in Texas. At some point I’m hopeful they too will plan to bring their families here. Something about me…. My sisters and I lost my brother to childhood cancer, I was 15 at the time, he was 12. Pretty crazy time in my life, but in so many ways I’m grateful for what I’ve learned and who I’ve become because of the loss. I’ve realized that these days are long, but the years are short and we have to live now. I am head over heels in love with my family and excited more than anything to spend time (it’s really the only priceless thing we have) with them. Because we are new to the area, we are always looking for new and fun things to do here, but you can’t ever go wrong with a simple day at the beach.
A good workout always sets me in the right state of mind emotionally and feeling amazing physically. If I miss a few days of working out, my husband will ask when was the last time was I had a good workout (of course, said with total love) but he already knows the answer based on my mood. As moms, wives, and all the other hats we wear–cab driver, cook, teacher, body guard, video game extraordinaire, just to name a few, we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves.
It’s easy to skip that little bit of time to put on some music and just go work out. But after I make the time, I am reminded of just how important this is for me to feel like myself inside and out. I don’t work out just to be strong physically, but mentally too.
I’m so excited to have the opportunity to share my heart, ideas about motherhood and love for Florida with you all here on Destin 30A Moms Blog.
Life is but a dream, let’s embrace it together.
